  1. Thanks for sharing this to both you and Giles.

On Maintenance: The internet really is full of advice. One of the best tools for a car owner is Google and Youtube. If your car has a problem, then I would almost guarantee that someone has already documented the common symptoms and made a video on how to fix it. This is what got me through college!

    Hi,

I’m glad you like it! As for maintenance, yes, there are many things you can do yourself. Youtube is always useful – having a video shows you exactly what you need to do. There are a number of little things that can be done at home if you just take a few moments to learn how.

    Thank you for commenting!

Another way to save on fuel costs is to be on the lookout for gas station gift cards. My local supermarket sometimes offers coupons for $10 off a $50 gift card, when you spend $50 in groceries. Immediate savings of 20% on gasoline!

    • That’s a great point! There is also a grocery store by my parents’ cottage up North that lets you redeem points for pennies off fuel. It’s never a ton, but it doesn’t hurt.

One of my local garages has a day a week where fuel is slightly cheaper so I make sure that’s when I fill my tank! Great tips 🙂
